Lesson 10: My Short Story – Writing a Full Paragraph

You will learn a basic grammar rule in each lesson and see clear examples. After that, you will write your own sentences or a short paragraph using the new rule and vocabulary. When you finish, you will send your writing to the AI to get correction, feedback, and a score in English.

Grammar Focus: Using Different Tenses + Linking Words (and, but, then)

In this lesson, you will write a full paragraph. You will also use grammar from the previous lessons:

  • am / is / are

  • Simple Present

  • There is / There are

  • Can / Can’t

  • Was / Were

You will also use linking words to connect sentences:

  • and → to add information

  • but → to show difference

  • then → to show order

Examples:

  1. I was tired, but I went to school.

  2. There is a park near my house, and I play there.

  3. I woke up early, then I had breakfast.

Important Rules:

  • Start with a capital letter.

  • Use full sentences.

  • Use linking words to connect ideas.

  • Try to write one clear paragraph (not separate sentences only).

Examples:

Yesterday, I was at home with my family. We were happy because it was my birthday. There was a big cake, and my friends were there. I can sing, but I can’t dance very well. It was a great day.

Vocabulary You Can Use

yesterday, family, friends, house, school, park, happy, tired, fun, cake, game, play, went, saw, had
